Week 11

Division C

The RFC looked confident, blessing the pitch once again. With the league playoffs right around the corner, every match, every point counts.

Vincent Tsang is definitely improving as the weeks go by, and today was no exception. A relentless effort in the midfield brought much inspiration to the team.

It’s also worth a mention as defensive center back and captain Nick saved a goal on the line, clearing the ball at the very last second.

The dynamic Trepanier duo impressed once again, as a one-two play found Jonas all alone on the opposite side. RFC won 1-0.

Division B

In much frustration, and after many weeks, we still haven’t got over this loss. We’ve played much better football because we’ve proved it to ourselves. Or maybe College Lasalle wanted it more than us. The match ended 3-1 in their favor.

Please note that the referee awarded a questionable penalty shot that cost us the match. Then again, this will sound like an excuse. It’s not an excuse was you’re on the pitch, sweating, bleeding, battered and bruised, exhausted as your lungs are punching through your chest gasping for air.

Week 2

Division B

On Sunday, November 22nd 2009, Week 2 was important for all. Last year, the RFC lost the Cup Final to College Lasalle. As both sides faced each other this afternoon, the pressure was on. After hitting two posts and questionable refereeing however, the RFC lost 2-6.

In a sport where every inch counts, we gave our opponents too much respect. Game three is much awaited.

Division C

A slow start to the season is not something foreign to us and even with an early win it was evident we were still lacking the visceral understanding that took us to the play off finals last year. Everyone worked hard, in week two, but our lack of match-sharpness was our undoing and we slid to a 3-1 defeat. It must be mentioned that our only goal that day was a beautiful shot from distance by our Captain Nick Drakopoulos, and will surely remain a strong favourite for goal of the season.
