Frontpage!
The Ringleaders made it on the front page of TOTALCAMPO.
FIRST, SIXTH. THEN, THE WORLD.
Unwilling to watch the playoff train leave them stranded, RFC 2 put their collective heads down and made a mad dash for it to earn their shot at the big times.
“The struggling B Division side got an uncharacteristically early lead and toughed it out against a very physical FC Brossard squad to ultimately come out with a 4-2 win, leaving division hopefuls Real Montreal stranded at their coattails just a week before the playoffs.
POTG: Intermittent goal scorer Joas Trepanier got the first half equalizer and the insurance finisher with Brossard fighting back in the second to give his squad the victory.”

Week 7
Division B
In Week 7 versus league B leaders (and undefeated) Moldova, the holidays take a toll on your body. Joas Trepanier hurt his knee during his first shift, one false movement and one bad push from behind, the boy was out of luck. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The Ringleaders were quite confident and focused. I don’t think Moldova saw us coming. We contained them well, with very little space for them to maneuver. It was 2-0 for them at half time, the second goal being a handball control that the referee failed to see.
An inspiring performance by our midfield saved us the match. Hassan Tounkara was brave today, exchanging the ball and executing precise plays between Dan Marrett, Ian Kenedy, Jeremy Patterson and Danny Pexis. The match ended 2-2, with a questionable action at the end of the 2nd half. Danny Pexis was clearly going on a break, while the last defender of Moldova touched it with his hand. He deserved a red card, but only got a yellow. I’m clearly frustrated tonight. I’ve seen teams behave better without referees on the pitch. Do we really need them in these amateur garage leagues?
Division C
I was about to write my report on this game when I received a group email from RFC’s Director of Football, Angelo Destounis, which summed up our performance and the game perfectly, so I’ll quote directly from his email:
‘With Vince and Joas injured, Team C had a big challenge. A very inspiring performance boys, we had them at 2-1, we only crumbled with 10 minutes left because of fatigue. And if Naz wouldn’t of hit the post, we had them at 2-2. For those who missed the game, Paul connected with Marrett on a crazy goal. It has now become a legend, you’ll hear about it 200 years from now, in some prophetic book found in ancient ruins.’

Week 1
It’s been awhile, but we’re back.
Both RFC teams marched together on the pitch last month. After a whole summer of pick up sessions and practice, and many new faces added, we joined the Total Campo league once again.
The “placement” tournament went well. We landed a squad in Division B and Division C respectively. As the official league season kicked off Sunday, November 15th 2009, both RFC teams played well. Let’s take a closer look…
Division B
After losing their first placement match to Lachine FC, the boys were ready for their comeback debut, winning 2-1. As the defense and midfield stayed solid, both RFC forwards Ian Kennedy and Danny Pexis shined throughout the match. Joas Trepanier was fully back and in great form, as he scored the opening goal. Danny Pexis then brought home the victory with 15 minutes left to play.
Division C
The first game is always a tough one, especially after the successful season we had last year. But it’s always good to get back together as a team and welcome some new faces into the fold, and welcome back some players from long term injuries (who were looking particularly hungry for some action).
We hadn’t had chance to develop any rhythm as a fully functioning squad yet, so there was only really one thing left for us to do and that was to scrap out a victory, and that was exactly what we did. The team came together, not with fluidity we had dreamed of the night before, but with a resounding stubbornness that was expressed all too naturally. A superb finish by Jesse Bowden, stylishly slotting the ball under the opposing keeper, inspired the 3-2 victory. We left Brossard pleased with ourselves and relieved but that was to be short-lived.

A new idea for the new season. Jeremy Wirth launched our very first match programme.
