African Arenas

Just in time for the World Cup, there is a new photobook available called African Arenas by Thomas Hoeffgen, a german Photographer. It was a personal project for him that took 10 years to complete – and the results are very impressive. It appears to do justice in capturing the passion that the continent has for football. He visited several countries over 7 trips to find the right angles and timing to shoot the 85 images and stories that fill the pages of his book. Covering makeshift goalposts on flat pieces of land to concrete stadiums, all kinds of arenas are showcased.

The book can be ordered here.

Looking forward to getting my hands on this!
